From science to cricket pitch, literature to cinema, Indian women are everywhere! India has had a long history of determined women who have marked their presence in various fields through the stellar achievements.
On the occasion of Women’s Day, we bring you a small rundown of those amazing Indian women who were firsts in their field and their contribution towards making India proud.
1. Avani Chaturvedi
Avani Chaturvedi became the first Indian woman to fly solo a fighter aircraft. She flew a MiG-21 'Bison', an aircraft known for its highest landing and take off speed in the world.

During India's series against New Zealand Women - Mithali Raj became the first woman to play in 200 ODI match.

3. Mary Kom
Mary Kom is the only woman to become World Amateur Boxing champion for a record six times, and the first woman from the country to win a medal in boxing at the Olympics.

In a world Badminton rankings in 2015, Saina Nehwal became the first Indian woman to secure no. 1 position.
